‘Weapons’ Trailer: What Exactly Happened To The Children of Maybrook?

Weapons Julia Garner Woman with glasses and short blonde, curly hair crying with her hands on the steering wheel

For the past few weeks, New Line Cinema has been teasing Zach Cregger’s latest nightmare, Weapons. From creepy social media clips and a strange website to a mysterious teaser trailer, they’re crafting the world of Cregger’s Barbarian follow-up into something nightmarish and unnerving. Now, with the release of the official trailer, we have a little bit more information about what befell the town of Maybrook.

In Cregger’s new film, “When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.

Watch the new official trailer:

While we still have more questions than answers, it looks like Julia Garner will be at least one of our central characters as a teacher who becomes the object of the town’s ire. After all, it is her entire class that went missing. Josh Brolin is also established as a parent of one of the missing children.

Brolin and Garner star in the film with Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.

Cregger also wrote Weapons and produces the film alongside Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin executive producing.  The filmmaker’s creative team behind the camera includes director of photography Larkin Seiple, production designer Tom Hammock, editor Joe Murphy and costume designer Trish Sommerville.  The music is by Ryan Holladay, Hays Holladay and Zach Cregger.

Weapons comes to theaters and IMAX on August 8, 2025 from New Line Cinema.
