Flying Lotus’ Mindbender ‘Ash’ Lands on Blu-ray in July

Directed by Grammy winner Flying Lotus (V/H/S/99, Kuso), Ash will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on July 22 via RLJE Films and Shudder.

The sci-fi horror film is executive produced by filmmaker Neill Blomkamp (District 9).

Special Features:

  • The Making of Ash
  • Interview with Director Flying Lotus
  • Interviews with Actors Eiza González, Aaron Paul, Kate Elliott, and Beulah Koale and Producers Nate Bolotin and Matthew Metcalfe
  • Creating the Costumes with Aitor Throup
  • The Visual Style with Flying Lotus
  • Behind the Scenes
  • Teasers

Eiza González (Baby Driver) and Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”) star alongside Iko Uwais (The Raid), Beulah Koale (Shadow in the Cloud), Kate Elliott (“Xena: Warrior Princess”), and Flying Lotus.

On the mysterious planet of Ash, Riya (González) awakens to find her crew slaughtered. When a man named Brion (Paul) arrives to rescue her, an ordeal of psychological and physical terror ensues while Riya and Brion must decide if they can trust one another to survive.

Jonni Remmler penned the script. Nate Bolotin (The Raid, Mandy) and Mathew Metcalfe produce.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Flying Lotus instead tells this familiar story in a way that only he could, delivering the equivalent of an ultra-violent space survival horror video game in cinematic form. It’s an immersive, experiential vibe movie that washes over you with its droning score that ramps up in intensity along with the chaos.”

Ash is currently available on Digital.
