Kevin Bacon Horror Comedy Series ‘The Bondsman’ Cancelled at Prime Video

Just over a month after premiering on Prime Video with one and only season, Blumhouse’s horror-comedy series “The Bondsman” starring Kevin Bacon has already been cancelled.

The eight episode first season failed to catch on with audiences, which is sadly the fate of many TV shows in an era that’s absolutely flooded with new content on a weekly basis.

Was “The Bondsman” any good, you might be wondering? Well, Meagan gave it 2.5 stars in her Bloody Disgusting review, noting that the series “lacks a distinguishing personality.”

“It’s a series that tries to be a horror-comedy, family drama, and violent crime thriller all at once but without the time or finesse to make any of it coherent or engaging,” Meagan writes in her review. “The concept behind the series is a strong one and it still has potential. Here’s to hoping “The Bondsman” does anything of substance with it if renewed.”

Alas, “The Bondsman” will not be returning for a second season.

Kevin Bacon starred in “The Bondsman” as Hub Halloran, a murdered bounty hunter, who’s back from the dead after being resurrected by the Devil to trap and send back demons that have escaped from the prison of Hell. By chasing down those demons, with the help and hindrance of his estranged family, Hub learns how his own sins got his soul condemned — which pushes him to seek a second chance at life, love, and country music.

The series was created by Grainger David, with Erik Oleson serving as showrunner.
