‘The Sinking City Remastered’ Surprise Drops Today [Trailer]

Frogwares has surprised everyone with today’s launch of The Sinking City Remastered. Originally announced last month (with no release date), the remaster to the 2019 Lovecraftian third-person title is now available for PC, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, and as a free for all existing owners of the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series versions of the game.

Originally released in June 2019 and developed on Unreal Engine 4, The Sinking City Remastered has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 with “an upgraded visual experience” alongside some requested quality-of-life features. The core additions to the remaster include:

  • Game fully relit in Unreal Engine 5
  • Enhanced locations with additional levels of detail and objects
  • 4K textures and improved reflections
  • Addition of a Photo Mode
  • Support for DLSS, FSR and TSR upscaling

Meanwhile, it’s safe to say that the Kickstarter for The Sinking City 2, which is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, was a resounding success. The final total of €554,002 smashed the initial goal of €100,000, ensuring that all of the proposed stretch goals for the game will be met. No release date has been announced as of yet, but Frogwares is aiming for sequel to arrive later this year.
