You Can’t Slash Me: John Cena Wants to Star in a Horror Movie

Tor Johnson. Roddy Piper. Jesse Ventura. Bill Goldberg. CM Punk. Many wrestlers over the years have made the leap into the horror movie arena, and John Cena could be the next.

John Cena, who is currently halfway through his year-long retirement tour from the squared circle, took part in a 30-minute Q&A at Fan Expo Philadelphia earlier this month and one fan asked him the following question: “If you were to be in a horror film, would you want to be the villain or would you want to be a citizen being killed?” Cena’s simple answer? YES.

Cena told the crowd, “My answer to that is yes because I’ve never been in a horror film, so I would just want to be in a horror film. If you’re out there and you’re doing it, I’m available.”

It’s likely we’ll be seeing a lot of Cena on our screens both big and small in the wake of his WWE career wrapping up this year, as he’s one of the select few professional wrestlers to successfully transition from the ring and into Hollywood. Cena of course stars in James Gunn’s DC series “Peacemaker,” for starters, which will be returning for its second season in August.

John Cena has also shown off his acting chops in films including Ricky Stanicky, Vacation Friends, Fast X, The Suicide Squad, Blockers, and Trainwreck, setting the stage for a career that’ll extend far beyond the confines of World Wrestling Entertainment.

Is a horror movie in John Cena’s future? Stay tuned…
