New Patch for ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl’ Adds New Weapons, Looting Mechanics [Trailer]

In “one of the most significant updates to date” for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, GSC Game World has dropped the Guns and Looting patch. Accompanied by a new trailer, the 1.5 update adds new weapons, never-before-seen gameplay features, and official mod support with the Zone Kit.

The patch adds two new weapons in the Three-Line Rifle and Kora Pistol. A lightweight, bolt-action sniper rifle with impressive range and precision, the Three-Line Rifle can be found early on in your journey. In contrast, the Kora is a heavy-hitting, clunky pistol that sacrifices speed for raw power. There’s also the rare Night Stalker variant that can be found out in the Zone.

Patch 1.5 also introduces a new feature in mutant parts looting. Defeating bloodsuckers, fleshes, and other mutants now yields valuable parts including eyes, tusks, and tentacles. You can trade these parts with NPCs for coupons. However, you’ll need to visit Malachite to master the art of harvesting them in tradable condition.

And for modders, Heart of Chornobyl officially has modding support in with The Zone Kit toolset. Available on the Epic Games Store, the Zone Kit allows stalkers to:

• Modify or create new animations, weapons, mechanics, and anomalies.
• Adjust gameplay to suit your preferences, whether you’re seeking more challenge, less difficulty, or something entirely new.
• Share creations effortlessly via mod.io or Steam Workshop, depending on the platform.

Lastly, the update also adds things such as expanding the stash window size, an Electric Water Tornado anomaly, distinct icons for each ammo type and more.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is available on the Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
