Post-apocalyptic Action Title ‘Vessels of Decay’ Launches June 19 [Trailer]

After securing a publishing deal with Headup this past March, developers Simon Jakobsson and Aurora Punks have announced a June 19th release date for their post-apocalyptic pixel art action-adventure title, Vessels of Decay. And seeing as Steam Next Fest is right around the corner, there’s a new demo available for players to get a glimpse of what awaits them in the game.

Vessels of Decay follows the story of Freja and Mud. Civilization has ended, and something else has awoken in its place. From the world’s decay, ancient creatures stir, rise, and roam the land. In this retro-inspired tale, you’ll confront creatures of Scandinavian myth and folklore horrors while exploring the ruins of the civilization they inhabit.

Featuring a dynamic battle system with unique finishers, Vessels of Decay also sports multi-stage boss encounters. The beasts you’ll encounter will not let themselves be put down easily, requiring you to use your wits and reflexes to pursue and slay them. Set against the uniquely Scandinavian take on the classic action-adventure game, players will clash with the battered ruins of a once-modern society clash against the renewed growth of nature and the supernatural.

In addition to Steam, Vessels of Decay will also be launching for the Epic Games Store, GOG, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
