Salem Horror Fest Team Horror Arts Collective to Open Physical Space in Salem

Horror Arts Collective, the team behind Salem Horror Fest, are gearing up to open a physical space in Salem, Massachusetts, to create a unique, horror-centric venue that blends film, fandom, media preservation, academia and atmosphere into a chillingly immersive experience for the community.

Imagine a cozy, sinister space filled with cult classics, forgotten VHS gems, and horror staples; a place where fans can gather and watch films in a 25-seat screening room, rent films from an expansive physical media library, support local creators, attend lectures and workshops, and explore the dark corners of cinema history.

Horror Arts Collective has the space, the lease, and the vision. They’ve launched a GoFundMe to help bring it to life.

Donations will go toward furniture and decor, a physical media library, light construction, supplies, and a payroll nest egg.

You can also help support Horror Arts Collective by attending their upcoming events:

  • 6/13 – Friday the 13th Screening – Cinema Salem
  • 6/14 – A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 Screening – Cinema Salem
  • 6/20 – The Hunger Screening – Cinema Salem
  • 6/20 – Vampire Dance Party with Vanta – Hallowed Ground

Horror has always been a home for the misfits, the creatives, the outsiders, the curious. Let’s help create a communal space for connection and celebrating the genre that unlocks, and helps us face, our greatest fears.
