Mackenzie Davis Joins Josh Hartnett in Netflix’s Sea Creature Series

Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate, Speak No Evil) will star opposite Josh Hartnett in Netflix’s as-yet-untitled limited series created by Jesse McKeown (“The Umbrella Academy”), Deadline reports.

It follows a hard-bitten fisherman (Hartnett) who must fight to protect his family, his community, and his vanishing way of life when a mysterious sea creature terrorizes a remote Newfoundland town.

McKeown serves as showrunner in addition to executive producing alongside Hartnett, Childs, Jessica Rhoades (“Black Mirror”), Louise Sutton (“Black Mirror”), Chris Hatcher (“Shadowhunters”), and Sharon Hall (“The Expanse”).

Jamie Childs (“The Sandman”), Helen Shaver (“Vikings”), and Stephen Dunn (“Queer as Folk”) will direct, while the writing team includes Karen Walton (Ginger Snaps), Perry Chafe (“Frontier”), and Natty Zavitz.

The six-episode series will be shot on location in Newfoundland, Canada.
