‘Turbo Kid’ Metroidvania Launches on the Nintendo Switch on August 5 [Trailer]

After launching last year on Steam, Outerminds Inc’s cult-classic-movie-turned-video-game Turbo Kid is heading to the Nintendo Switch on August 5th. And for you physical media fans, you can still pre-order a physical edition of the game from Premium Edition Games.

Turbo Kid is a singleplayer Metroidvania adventure with insane weapons, skills, and pixel gore where you ride your BMX and blast your enemies as you discover the secrets of the Wasteland. Set between the end of 2015’s Turbo Kid and the upcoming sequel, the game takes place in a retro-futuristic 80s vision of 1997. You play as Turbo Kid as he takes on a manipulative Preacher and his devoted disciples to free a confined Wasteland town from their theocratic rule. A nightmare vision of the 90s, Turbo Kid is set in a world where humanity has broken down, water is scarce, tyrannical warlords roam the Wasteland, and bikes are the steeds of choice for would-be saviours.

Meanwhile, the physical edition of Turbo Kid includes a physical copy of the Switch game and case (obviously), with a double-sided cover, a full color manual, a hand-painted glossy slipcase, and a numbered Challenge Card where you can earn a limited Challenge Patch from Premium Edition Games. As an exclusive pre-order bonus through Premium Edition Games (which are only available during the pre-order window), you can also get a bonus dog tag.
