As a former theater kid, any movie about community or local theater often skyrockets to the top of my watchlist. Such is the case with Christopher Bouckoms and
Sam Pezzullo’s new film, The Premiere, a mockumentary about a theater producer’s journey to create a musical based on Wes Craven’s slasher classic, Scream.
We’re excited to exclusively premiere the films trailer, but first, check out the film’s full synopsis:
The Premiere is a mockumentary about a narcissistic theater producer, Sam, creating a documentary about his journey to stage a musical version of his favorite movie, Scream. Along the way, he clashes with quirky characters played by real-life Hamptons locals, to awkward and outrageous results.
Compared to The Office and Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Premiere isn’t just about Scream, but also about the Hamptons and its incredible (and quirky) community.
Pezullo stars in the film as our delusional producer alongside Christina Brown, Alan Ceppos, Marissa Ruben, and Kristen Curcie.
The Premiere comes to VOD on August 19, 2025.
