For years, Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair has been the cinematic white whale—talked about, screened only in rare circumstances, but never given the wide release that fans have craved. Well, that changes on December 5, 2025, when the good people over at Lionsgate finally brings the complete cut of Tarantino’s revenge epic to theaters nationwide.
Originally released in two volumes, The Whole Bloody Affair restores the saga to its intended form: one seamless, unrated feature. Gone are the cliffhanger ending of Vol. 1 and the recap that opened Vol. 2. In their place, fans will experience the full scope of Uma Thurman’s bloody quest for vengeance as The Bride, presented with a classic intermission and, for the first time ever, a 7½-minute never-before-seen animated sequence.

Select screenings will also showcase the film in 70mm and 35mm, making this a rare chance to see Tarantino’s carnage splashed across celluloid. “I wrote and directed it as one movie—and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie,” Tarantino said in a statement. “The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theater in Glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”
Lionsgate, which controls distribution rights to much of Tarantino’s library (Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, and Death Proof), is positioning the release as a major cinematic event.
With its operatic scope, relentless martial-arts spectacle, and iconic bloodletting, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair finally delivers Tarantino’s definitive revenge saga in the way it was always meant to be seen: big, bold, and merciless.
