The first big horror of the year will be Primate, a brutal killer chimp movie in which a group of friends’ tropical vacation turns into a terrifying, primal tale of horror and survival when a family pet turns violent.
The theatrical experience will be even better now that we know it will also be screening in D-Box-equipped theaters and have a brand new poster to prove it. Get ready to feel it all on January 9.
Fans of Jordan Peele’s Nope know just how terrifying Primate will be, and knowing it hails from filmmaker Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, Strangers: Prey at Night) only instills more confidence. In fact, Dread Central’s Matthew Jackson reviewed Primate, writing that Roberts’ “love letter to [Stephen King’s] Cujo is a blast.”
Johnny Sequoyah, Jessica Alexander, Troy Kotsur, Victoria Wyant, Gia Hunter, Benjamin Cheng, Charlie Mann, and Tienne Simon star in the film.
