‘Ju-on’ Director Takashi Shimizu Heads to the ‘Suicide Forest Village’ With Next Horror Movie [Trailer]

In the wake of last year’s Howling Village, the creator of the Japanese Ju-on series and The Grudge franchise, Takashi Shimizu, is back this year with new movie Suicide Forest Village.

Shimizu’s new horror movie is the latest to draw inspiration from the dreaded Aokigahara Forest at the base of Mt. Fuji, notorious for a rash of suicides and alleged hauntings.

In the film, written by Shimizu and Daisuke Hosaka…

“One day a mysterious box arrived and a curse began to spread all over. The source of the box is ‘Jukai Village’. The village is hidden in Jukai Forest, a suicide spot that once you enter it, you can never come out.”

The cast includes Yumi Adachi, Hideko Hara, Fûju Kamio, Haruka Kudo and Jun Kunimura.
