A twisted new horror movie is entering production, and it’s being helmed by a powerhouse team of genre veterans and unexpected collaborators.
Titled The Slashin’ of the Christ, the project is penned by Ice Nine Kills vocalist Spencer Charnas and Paul Soter, best known for his work with the cult comedy troupe Broken Lizard (Super Troopers, Beerfest). Charnas, no stranger to horror theatrics, is bringing his blood-soaked musical sensibilities to the screen alongside Soter, whose past dabblings in horror-comedy (Club Dread) suggest we’re in for something strange, bold, and irreverent.
But the horror credentials don’t stop there.
Legendary effects artist and producer Greg Nicotero has signed on to produce the film. Nicotero, whose credits span everything from Evil Dead II and Misery to The Walking Dead and Creepshow, brings a formidable pedigree in horror storytelling and gore wizardry. He’ll produce through Monster Agency Productions with his producing partner Brian Witten (Final Destination) and Chris Nilsson (The Dirt).
While the film’s exact plot remains under wraps, the talent involved hints at a darkly comedic, possibly sacrilegious splatterfest. With a name like The Slashin’ of the Christ, it’s safe to expect razor-sharp satire, stylized carnage, and perhaps a few crucifixion-themed kills.

The project was first teased through enigmatic posts from Ice Nine Kills’ official channels, sparking speculation among fans. A dedicated website, SlashinoftheChrist.com, has now launched for ongoing updates as the film takes shape.
Meanwhile, Charnas and the rest of Ice Nine Kills will be hitting the road this month on a North American tour. Their horror-inspired live show will tear through cities across Canada and the U.S., including stops in Virginia, North Carolina, Missouri, Wisconsin, Texas, and more. The band will also join Metallica and Limp Bizkit on select stadium dates.
Stay tuned for more carnage, and don’t forget to grab your tickets before they’re gone.
