‘Clown in a Cornfield’ Author Adam Cesare to Publish ‘The Toxic Avenger’ Novelization in September

Fresh of the successful film adaptation of his Clown in a Cornfield, author Adam Cesare is writing The Toxic Avenger: The Official Movie Novelization.

Based on the new reboot of the 1984 cult classic, the 288-page novel will be published in paperback and e-book on September 2 via Titan Books.

When a struggling janitor is pushed into a vat of toxic waste, he is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends, and his community from the forces of corruption and greed.

The Toxic Avenger opens unrated in theaters nationwide on August 29 from Bloody Disgusting, Cineverse, Screambox, and Legendary.

The fresh, bold take on Troma’s iconic superhero horror-comedy is written and directed by Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore).

Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”) stars with Kevin Bacon (Friday the 13th), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), Jacob Tremblay (Doctor Sleep), Julia Davis (Phantom Thread), and Taylour Paige (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F).

Toxie will also grace the cover of the new issue of Fangoria.
