CD Projekt Red and studio Trigger will be returning to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series with a second season. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II. Revealed at Anime Expo 2025, the second season for Netflix will see Kai Ikarashi step into the director’s chair after handling storyboarding for the first season, while story writer and producer Bartosz Sztybor returns as the showrunner.
“David’s story [from the first season] might be over, but there’s plenty more to discover in Night City. And to again have the legendary animation studio Trigger along for the ride makes us at CD Projekt Red so excited to introduce a raw, real chronicle of redemption and revenge, something unlike what we’ve done before,” said Sztybor.
Sztybor will be joined for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II by lead character designer Kanno Ichigo (Promare, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) and Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Promare), who will be responsible for the screenplay adaptation.
The presentation (which you can view here) concluded with a closed-door viewing of new teaser footage. Don’t worry, as CD Projekt Red has released an announcement teaser, and while it doesn’t show any new footage from the upcoming series, it does offer clips of the gory glory of the first season.
