‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ New Trailer Reminds You That Karma Is A Killer

I know what you did last summer

Just a month before Sony releases the latest I Know What You Did Last Summer film, they’ve dropped a new trailer to get us even more excited for the upcoming reboot. This time, we learn a little bit more about the nuptials at the center of the film, we get a glimpse at some more kills, and we see a little more of the iconic characters returning to the scene of the crime.

In the upcoming reboot:

When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.

Watch the new trailer:

The trailer shows a key difference in this take on I Know What You Did Last Summer: it seems this friend group is involved in a fatal car accident, but they don’t hit a pedestrian. It’ll be interesting to see how this difference factors into how the film unfolds and reveals its secrets.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson directs the new film from a story by Robinson and Leah McKendrick, and a screenplay by Sam Lansky and Robinson.

Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, and Austin Nichols star in the film, with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt reprising their iconic roles.

I Know What You Did Last Summer comes exclusively to theaters on July 18, 2025.
