Upcoming ‘Metamorphosis’ Adapts Kafka Classic Into Surrealist Adventure Game

Kafka’s The Metamorphosis has been adapted several times in a variety of media, including video games. The last one, Pulse Entertainment’s Bad Mojo, was admittedly a loose adaptation, but Ovid Works’ upcoming Metamorphosis takes a decidedly darker turn.

Set for release this year for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, Metamorphosis puts you in the shoes (and exoskeleton) of Gregor Samsa, a salesman-turned-insect trying to rescue his friend Joseph after his mysterious arrest. Gregor also has to contend with getting his old body back. To do so, Gregor has to navigate his now surrealist world, solving puzzles in order to make your way to Joseph.
