‘Wolfenstein: The Board Game’ Smashes Kickstarter Goal

Board game adaptations of video games seems to be the thing at the moment, what with Resident Evil 2 and 3, Bloodborne, Deadly Premonition all receiving a board game adaption. You can now add Wolfenstein to the list, as the recently-announced Kickstarter has crushed its goal.

Archon Games have successfully financed Wolfenstein: The Board Game, along with a handful of its stretch goals. The devs were asking for $50,000, but have ended up with almost $600,000 at the time of writing. This means many of the stretch goals – most notably, an expansion to the base game based on Wolfenstein: The Old Blood – have been attained.

Playing like something like a tactical RPG mixed with your typical 12-sided die, your goal is simple: As BJ Blazkowicz, you lead a group of resistance fighters against the Nazi machine, where you must eventually face and assassinate Hitler. Of course, you’ll have to deal with the SS and the various Nazi science experiments along the way. The game manages to incorporate stealth mechanics, as well as various abilities for BJ and his crew, including multiple firing modes for your weapons.

The board game has set a release date of August 2021. There’s still time now to pledge, so head on over to the Kickstarter page and get in on that.
