A bit like the Harry Potter film franchise, Netflix’s “Stranger Things” is able to get a little darker and scarier as the actors get older, and the upcoming fourth season is apparently going to be doubling down on that terror. At least according to star Joe “Steve Harrington” Keery, who promises in a new chat with Total Film that Season 4 will be the scariest to date.
“Oh man, it’s pretty amazing – the Duffer brothers have really done it again,” Keery tells Total Film (via sister publication Games Radar). “I think that this year – and I know I say this every single year – but this is definitely going to be a lot scarier than prior years.”
In the new season, Hopper is imprisoned in Russia. “Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything.”
Production on the fourth season of “Stranger Things” was halted due to the ongoing pandemic, so at this time we have no way of knowing when it’ll resume or when it’ll premiere.
For now, all we can really do is wait.
