Gravitas Ventures has acquired North American rights to Fredi Nwaka’s indie The Living Dead from UK based genre outfit Devilworks, reports Screendaily ahead of the virtual Cannes market.
Nwaka’s The Living Dead follows five young criminals who are forced to take refuge from the police during a robbery in a haunted castle.
“A simple robbery descends into chaos, as the thieves end up in an old castle and discover an ancient curse protecting its treasure. Supernatural entities are actively trying to prevent them from finding the gold, or are they?”
The cast includes Nwaka (Brotherhood, Dead Man Running), Jessica-Jane Stafford (Black Site) Tim Faraday (Snatch, Legend, Killer Weekend), Fabrizio Santino (Captain America: The First Avenger), and Winston Ellis (The Dark Night, Pirates of the Caribbean)
It is the feature film debut of UK rapper Professor Green (real name Stephen Manderson) and premiered at last year’s FrightFest in London.
