Greg Nicotero Teases “Creepshow” Season 2 Writers; Nicotero Will Direct Three Episodes This Season

The debut season of Shudder’s “Creepshow” is now available on Blu-ray and of course also on Shudder, and a brand new batch of episodes is on the way. Production on the second season of “Creepshow” is currently on hold for obvious reasons, but chatting with Bloody Disgusting’s Boo Crew Podcast this week, Greg Nicotero was able to offer some teases.

All we really know about season two of “Creepshow” at this time is that it’ll feature a Food of the Gods-inspired episode involving a giant spider (previewed in the behind-the-scenes image above), but we’ve now got some more insight into the creative talent attached to the new season. For starters, Nicotero himself will be directing three of season two’s episodes.

We have 90% of the scripts written, and the scripts are absolutely fantastic,” Nicotero proudly told The Boo Crew. “I’m so proud of them and so excited. I feel like going into season two, learning what I’ve learned, I had a lot more fun developing the stories. I’ve written a couple of the scripts myself. And I just finished a script that’s based on a Joe Hill story.”

Nicotero continued, “One of the scripts that was written by a friend named Frank Dietz is called ‘Pesticide.’ And it’s about this exterminator who does some unsavory things and he is in essence haunted by some of these creatures that he has killed. So that’s where the giant spider comes from.” He also teased other writers who have contributed to the new season, “There’s an author named Joe Konrath who I really like; we have John Esposito coming back; we have David Schow coming back; there’s a woman I worked with on ‘The Walking Dead’ named Melanie Dale, she wrote a script; there’s also a writer/director named Mattie Do, her and her husband Chris Larsen wrote a really cool script for us. Paul Dini and Stephen Langford, who wrote ‘Skincrawlers’ last year, wrote a script for us. The scripts are really fun. I can always tell if a script is successful if I want to direct. So I’m directing three of them.”

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
