Hitler’s Remains Trafficked in WWII Thriller ‘Burial’ [Cannes]

Altitude Film Sales has the most shocking cargo as they head into the Cannes virtual market.

Bloody Disgusting has the sales art and first details for Burial, a high concept WWII-set thriller following a small band of Soviet soldiers who must escape from Berlin to Moscow whilst harboring one of the World’s greatest secrets.

While not horror, the film is said to combine the tension and suspense of genre films like Green Room and Don’t Breathe with the cat-and-mouse thrills of 1971 and Headhunters.

Ben Parker directed Burial, which is set in the last days of WWII and tells the fictional story of a small band of Russian soldiers, led by intelligence officer Brana Vasilyeva, tasked with trafficking the remains of Hitler back to Stalin in Russia.

“En route, the unit is attacked by German ‘Werwolf’ partisans and picked off one-by-one. Brana leads her surviving comrades in a last stand to ensure their ‘cargo’ doesn’t fall into the hands of those who would see it buried, in order to hide the truth forever.”

Starring are Niamh Algar (Without Name), Tom Felton (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Harry Potter), Dame Diana Rigg (“Game of Thrones”), Tom Glynn-Carney (Dunkirk) and Ian Hart (God’s Own Country).

Burial is currently in pre-production.
