Empire Magazine’s ‘Dune’ Issue Gives Us Our First Look at the New Movie’s Sandworms

We’ve been told that the trailer for Denis Villeneuve‘s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune is on its way, and in the meantime, Empire Magazine provides their own preview today.

On sale early next month, the latest issue of the magazine features Dune as its cover story, and the Empire website has shown off the issue’s three different covers. They give us new looks at the characters, including Timothée Chalamet‘s Paul Atreides, Josh Brolin‘s Gurney Halleck, Oscar Isaac‘s Duke Leto, Rebecca Ferguson‘s Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem‘s Stilgar, Zendaya‘s Chani, Sharon Duncan-Brewster‘s Liet-Kynes and Jason Momoa’s Duncan Idaho.

And the third cover gives us our first glimpse at the colossal Sandworms!

Check out the covers below and pre-order your copies through Empire’s website.

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

Villeneuve directed Dune from a screenplay he co-wrote with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts.

Warner Bros. and Legendary will release Dune on December 18, 2020.
