Amazon has already renewed “The Boys” for a third season, we learned out of SDCC last month, but first thing’s first: Season 2 of the violent superhero series arrives next month!
The second season of “The Boys” is headed to Prime on September 4, with the first three episodes available on that day followed by new episodes premiering on a weekly basis.
Running 3-minutes long, the full official trailer for Season 2 has been uploaded this morning, and as expected, it’s home to all kinds of insanely gruesome carnage. Heads are exploded, a boat is driven clean through the carcass of a whale, and a little kid is thrown off a roof. In other words, it’s mostly business as usual for “The Boys.” And that’s the way we like it.

Now streaming through Amazon Prime, “The Boys” (based on the best-selling comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson) puts a bold, fresh and bloody new spin on the superhero genre, centered on a group of vigilantes who set out to take down corrupt superheroes.
“Season Two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own.
