Craig Murray Strings Up Violence in Portrayal of Guilt’s “It’s Already Over” & “Masochistic Oath” Music Video

Portrayal of Guilt have released a music video for “It’s Already Over” & “Masochistic Oath” from the upcoming album, We Are Always Alone, directed by upcoming UK-based filmmaker Craig Murray.

Things go very bad for a couple (Rufus White and Emily Smith) who come across a psychotic mechanic, played by Molly Micklethwait, who strings her victims up in her garage and brutally murders them.

“Texas-based Portrayal of Guilt got in touch, asking me to create a music video for them. We decided to use two songs in the end…helping the film and songs breathe together, whilst making it become more of a short film,” Murray said.

“After a load of effects heavy jobs, I wanted to shoot this completely in-camera with zero post production (apart from the grade),” he added. “Somehow we managed to shoot the entire thing in one very manic day.

“The film is based around a larger idea I’ve had for a while, so you can consider this a small glimpse into the world of a vintage car acquiring mechanic.

“The film takes influences from Switchblade Romance, Wolf Creek and The Ordeal, to name a few. Ultimately, I just wanted to make a film that described the sound visually… a gritty, bleak film traveling through hypnotic drones and suspense before a building crescendo that peaks before the end of the story have played out.”
