Phil Lord and Chris Miller Developing Untitled Universal Monster Movie; Channing Tatum Set to Star

The duo behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, Phil Lord and Chris Miller are developing an untitled monster movie for Universal Studios, Deadline is reporting tonight.

Being referred to as Untitled Monster Project at the moment, the film is “described as a modern-day, tongue-in-cheek thriller inspired by Universal’s classic monster legacy.”

Additionally, the plan is for Channing Tatum to star.

The site also notes, “The project is a bold genre reinvention of one of the studio’s most beloved characters from the Monsters Universe.”

Reid Carolin came up with the idea, with Wes Tooke writing the script.

Head over to Deadline to learn more.
