Christmas-Set ‘I Trapped the Devil’ Gets Fresh Art Poster [Exclusive]

This holiday season we’re celebrating winter-set horror films and one of our modern favorites is the Josh Lobo-directed indie I Trapped the Devil, a “Twilight Zone”-like satanic thriller released last year by IFC Midnight.

Timed perfectly for the holidays, IFC has made the film available to rent for .99 cents on iTunes and Bloody Disgusting is celebrating with an exclusive look at some brand new art created by Dru Phillips (Nightstream Film Festival).

Starring AJ Bowen (You’re Next, A Horrible Way to Die, The Signal), Jocelin Donahue (House of the Devil), Chris Sullivan (Stranger Things), Scott Poythress (The Signal), and Susan Burke (Southbound), the Christmas-set psychological horror focuses on a man’s descent into paranoia, after he traps what he believes to be the devil in his basement. The film reminds me of the classic “Twilight Zone” episode “The Howling Man”.

“Christmas is supposed to be a time for peace and joyful family reunions. But when Matt (Bowen) and his wife Karen (Burke) show up unannounced at the home of his estranged brother Steve (Poythress) to celebrate the holidays, they are instead greeted with a horrifying surprise: trapped in the basement is a man. But not just any man. Steve believes that his hostage is none other than the devil himself. As shock and skepticism turn to fear and paranoia, Matt and Karen find themselves facing a terrifying quandary: is Steve dangerously unhinged? Or could the mysterious stranger really be evil incarnate? Either way, the stage is set for a true Christmas from hell.”

Lobo produced alongside Spence Nicholson, Rowan Russell and Scott Weinberg.

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
