If there was any movie that came along and truly captured the zeitgeist this year it was Rob Savage’s Host, filmed during the pandemic, released during the pandemic, and taking place entirely across a Zoom conversation between a lovable group of friends. It was truly a horror movie for 2020, both perfectly timed and genuinely scary enough to make a splash.
The Shudder hit, which is sure to pop up on many “Best of 2020” lists, is now getting a physical release in early 2021, we’ve learned courtesy of UK’s Second Sight Films today.
The company teased, “Lockdown horror phenomenon Host is getting our Limited Edition Blu-ray treatment! Release date now February 22nd, full details and pre-order soon.”
Meagan wrote in her review for Bloody Disgusting, “For a brisk hour packed with chills, Host succeeds at what it sets out to do, which is to simply scare you in your own home.”
