‘Diablo III’s “Darkening of Tristram” Event Now Available

It’s that time of year again for Diablo III players, as Blizzard once again has kicked off the Darkening of Tristram event, which lasts all of January until January 31st at 4 PM PST. The event sees the return of the throwback pixel-filtered vision that mimics the sprite-based style of the original Diablo.

As before, you’ll find a portal after killing off some cultists that transports you back into a pseudo-recreation of Diablo‘s 16-level dungeon found beneath Tristram Cathedral. The dungeon features classic monsters like the Butcher, as well as unique rewards for scouring the new area (including a mini Butcher pet!).

It’ll hold you over until Diablo IV rolls out, which will hopefully be happening later this year.
