‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Will Now Haunt Audiences on November 11, 2021

Another brutal blow today with Sony’s Columbia Pictures shifting Jason Reitman‘s Ghostbusters: Afterlife out of its planned summer release to a much more reliable November 11, 2021.

While the initial June date could have led to a strong summer release, it’s still uncertain how the vaccine rollout will go and how long it will take to instill new confidence in moviegoers, not to mention it takes months and tens of millions of ad dollars to prep a release. If studios are moving goalposts, targeting fall or winter of 2021 is the way to go. We should be back to some sort of “normal” by then.

In the film, Carrie Coon is playing the daughter of the late Egon Spengler, with Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace as the grandchildren who will become the next generation of busters!

When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.

Afterlife‘s cast also includes Paul Rudd, while Bill MurrayDan AykroydErnie HudsonSigourney Weaver and Annie Potts are all coming back for this sequel to the original classic, reprising their iconic and beloved roles.
