Today is the Resident Evil Anniversary Showcase, and all sorts of murmurings about what else we’ll see alongside a look at Resident Evil Village have been bubbling under since last week’s announcement of the event. Well, ahead of the showcase, it looks like we may now know the name of the game that Capcom is doing beta testing for.
A description for Resident Evil Village on the Humble Store shows that the game includes something called Resident Evil RE:Verse, which could well be the multiplayer component of Village.
That would mean an online multiplayer is being included with a Resi game once again, after last year’s Resident Evil 3 remake was packaged with Resident Evil Resistance (which can’t bode well for that game’s future).
The game and its Deluxe Edition are up for preorder on Humble Store.
It won’t be long until we find out exactly what kind of thing RE:Verse is. Part of me hopes it’s a Resident Evil rhythm action musical spinoff. Albert Wesker vs. Chris Redfield in the ultimate dance-off showdown would be worth the price of admission alone.
