A Mysterious Monster Kickstarts a Pandemic in SRS Cinema’s ‘The Day of Destruction’ [Trailer]

We’ve exclusively learned today that SRS Cinema has acquired the North American rights to The Day of Destruction, directed by Japanese filmmaker Toshiaki Toyoda (Shiver).

In the film…

“Seven years ago, a mysterious monster was found deep in a rural coal mine. Since then, rumors of a plague spread through the small town, and people experience an unexplainable mental illness.”

SRS Cinema’s release of The Day of Destruction will include bonus short Wolf’s Calling, also directed by Toyoda. Limited edition presales on Blu-ray will start in May or June of this year.

A wide release DVD, we’re told, will likely follow in the Blu-ray’s wake.

The film’s cast includes Kiyohiko Shibukawa, Issei Ogata, Shima Ohnishi, Ryûhei Matsuda, Yôsuke Kubozuka, Itsuki Nagasawa, and MahiToThePeople.

Check out an early trailer below.
