Fresh Images of Jared Leto from Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ Present a Very, Very Different Joker

One of the most notable things about the upcoming “Snyder Cut” of Justice League is that Jared Leto‘s version of the Joker from Suicide Squad will be making a return in the 4-hour director’s cut coming exclusively to HBO Max on March 18. In addition to resurrecting lots of unused footage, Snyder also shot brand new scenes, which is how Joker will be brought in.

Zack Snyder recently described that Leto’s Joker in the “Snyder Cut” will be a “road-weary Joker,” honoring the character’s appearance in Suicide Squad but presenting him with a new look. And indeed an entirely new look has been previewed by Vanity Fair today, with the outlet sharing two new images of Snyder’s Joker that present a much darker take on the character.

Vanity Fair details, “(Spoiler warning) Joker appears in the new film during a sequence set on a ruined Earth after the alien tyrant Darkseid invades and decimates the planet. It’s a dream sequence, a psychic vision, experienced by Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne that reveals what will happen if the superheroes fail to stop the onslaught. Joker is sort of the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come, supplying motivation through terror.”

Head over to Vanity Fair for more insights from Snyder. And check out the two new images of this “Nightmare Joker” below, which call to mind Brandon Lee’s version of The Crow. This is a far cry from the tattooed, over-the-top Joker we met in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad

The “Snyder Cut,” which Warner Bros. is spending tens of millions of dollars on, is said to be quite a bit different and a whole lot darker, with Darkseid notably featured in the movie. Ray Porter plays the super-villain in scenes from the film that never ended up in the theatrical cut.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

The “Snyder Cut” is said to run a whopping 4-hours long, packed with previously shot footage from Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League that we’ve never seen, along with 4 or 5 minutes of brand new footage that Snyder began shooting just last year.

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
