Hitting the festival rounds last fall was Maria Bissell’s indie How to Deter a Robber, a thriller-comedy in which good times go bad.
The film takes place in a desolate town in Northern Wisconsin when a stubborn young woman and her naïve boyfriend face off against a pair of amateur burglars.
It stars Vanessa Marano, Benjamin Papac (“The Walking Dead”), Abbie Cobb, Sonny Valicenti, Gabrielle Carteris, and Chris Mulkey.
Shout! Studios acquired North American rights and plans a strategic launch of this movie day-and-date across all major entertainment platforms later this year.
Nerdist previously shared the first footage from the film that’s said to include “humorous booby traps straight out of Home Alone.” In the clip, the couple awakens to find that the house they planned to rob has been robbed. Police arrive.
