‘Walpurgis Night’: Werewolf Horror Movie Funding on Indiegogo Promises Classic Practical Effects

We can always use more werewolf horror, and we’ve just gotten word of a brand new movie that’s being crowd-funded through Indiegogo by filmmaker/makeup effects artist Eric Yoder. It’s titled Walpurgis Night, and Yoder describes the film as a practical effects-heavy “new twist to the classic werewolf story” that pays tribute to the werewolf films of Paul Naschy.

Yoder promises, “This film will be filled with horrifying gore, incredible special effects, and bring a sleek new look to the classic gothic monster movie!”

In Walpurgis Night, “A wealthy couple, Imre and Justine, are visiting the deep forests of Romania and find themselves at the mercy of Waldemar Daninsky, THE WEREWOLF. The wolf terrorizes the countryside, killing anyone in its path. But Waldemar desperately seeks a cure to his lycanthropy. After a horrific tragedy strikes, Waldemar and Justine travel to London to seek the help from of Dr. Jekyll’s grandson. But when the full moon rises… The werewolf becomes loose in London!  Justine and Jekyll must quickly find a way to end this horrible curse.”

Eric Yoder, who previously paid tribute to Paul Naschy with the 40-minute short The Legend of El Hombre Lobo, notes that Walpurgis Night has been in the works for over two years now, “and it’s finally time to make a full-blown werewolf film that is sure to truly shock and disturb its audience. Special Makeup Effects will take center stage in this film.”

Head over to Indiegogo to learn more and pitch it.
