Cold Iron Studios Reveals New Xenomorph Types in ‘Aliens: Fireteam’

If you thought you’d just be facing the same old Xenomorphs in Cold Iron Studios’ Aliens: Fireteam, guess again. IGN has broken news that the upcoming co-op game will feature a few new variants of Xenomorphs for you to tackle alongside Facehuggers and Synthetics.

In addition to the classic Drone, you’ll also be facing off against Bursters, which as you might expect, have the unfortunate ability to explode on death, spewing acid everywhere. Praetorians feature a bulletproof headplate that they also use for ramming. Prowlers are quadrupedal, and have a habit of jumping onto their prey from close range.

Similar to Prowlers are Runners, which hunt in large packs, and attack at high speed, and will use their serrated tails whilst circling their prey. Lastly there’s the Spitter, which attacks from a distance using acid from glands in its mouth. That’s not to say that they won’t use their claws and teeth up close.

Hit up the link above to see the designs for the new Xenomorphs.

In the meantime, you can also check out the 25-minute gameplay video for Fireteam released last week. Aliens: Fireteam is coming this Summer to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
