Give Evil Hell in Retro-Inspired FPS ‘Dread Templar’, Which Hits Steam Early Access This Fall

1C Entertainment have teamed up with indie studio T19 Games to bring another retro-inspired FPS to life with Dread Templar, which is planned to hit Steam Early Access and “other digital platforms” this Fall, with a full release in 2022. The game can also be wishlisted as of today.

Originally titled Hell Hunt, Dread Templar draws inspiration from classic shooters like Doom, Quake and Hexen, with a little Max Payne Bullet Time thrown in for good measure to pull off those headshots. And you’ll need it, because you’ll be dashing around with fast-paced gameplay.

The story for the game has you as the eponymous Dread Templar, who is doing the whole seeking revenge thing deep in “the evil realm”. You’ll be exploring levels and solving puzzles to find hidden weapons and upgrades, all the while dealing with hordes of demons and other monsters.

Your arsenal includes an array of katana swords, firearms, and other infernal weapons to make you the scariest thing in Hell. You’ll also have at your disposal Dread Powers that you can customize according to your playstyle.
