Mondo’s 18″ Godzilla Statue is Based on 1989 Movie ‘Godzilla vs. Biollante’ and It’s Now Up for Pre-Order!

Previewed just last week, Mondo‘s “Godzilla 89” Premium Scale Statue, based on the movie Godzilla vs. Biollante, is now up for grabs today, their biggest statue to date at 18″ tall!

The Premium Scale Statue was sculpted by Mark Newman and Hector Arce, designed by Eric Siebenaler, and painted by Hector Arce. Arce notes in the press release sent out today, “I’ve worked on Godzilla-related products in the past, but nothing like this. When I heard that Mondo had gotten the Toho license, and that we could make Godzilla product, my inner child bounced up and down, while adult me geeked out in a more appropriate fashion. [Godzilla vs. Biollante] features one of Godzilla’s most iconic and memorable designs. Two rows of teeth?! Hell yeah!”

Two versions are available, with the “Regular Edition” selling for $350 and the “Limited Edition” selling for $375. The “Limited Edition” statue (only 300 are being made) comes equipped with a special “switch-out mouth (open or closed), as well as a switch-out Heat Ray and a battle-damaged arm, wounds inflicted by the vicious vegetable known as Biollante!”

The statues will both begin shipping this coming August.

Head over to Mondo to pick up your own Godzilla ’89 statue while supplies last! And take a peek down below for previews of two more upcoming Godzilla products from Mondo…
