‘The Crow’: Official Concept Art from Unmade Reboot Shows Tom Hiddleston and Luke Evans in Eric Draven’s Makeup [Exclusive]

Just after running our Phantom Limbs article covering the history of director F. Javier Gutierrez’s unproduced remake of The Crow (read here), Bloody Disgusting has scored exclusive looks at that project’s leading men in Eric Draven’s iconic black and white makeup.

The first image is a piece of concept art featuring Avengers/Loki star Tom Hiddleston in the Crow face paint, which was created by the project’s makeup designer Bill Corso. As you can see, Hiddleston would have made a good match for the film’s hero, who was originally played by Brandon Lee in Alex Proyas’ 1994 film adaptation of James O’Barr’s graphic novel.

As noted in the Phantom Limbs article, Mr. Hiddleston eventually left the project and was replaced by Dracula Untold star Luke Evans, seen here in another bit of concept art created by Mr. Corso for the film. As with the Hiddleston makeup, special care was taken to make the nose scar from the graphic novel more prominent than it was in the original ’94 film.

Says Mr. Gutierrez of the work seen here: “We tried to make it as faithful to the graphic novel as possible. Grounded, and with attention to detail (I wanted to show the scar). Bill is brilliant, and did an amazing job.”

So what do you think? Sound off in the comments section below and let us know your thoughts on these actors and how they look as Eric!

Special Thanks to F. Javier Gutierrez and Bill Corso.

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
