In the wake of Godzilla vs. Kong, Adam Wingard (V/H/S, You’re Next, The Guest, Blair Witch) has set up a handful of new projects, including another movie for Legendary’s MonsterVerse and even a ThunderCats movie plus a sequel to Face/Off. But that’s not all, as Deadline reports today that Wingard has signed on to direct action-thriller Hardcore for Universal Pictures.
The film will adapt the Skybound/Image comic series from Robert Kirkman and Marc Silvestri, and Deadline notes that Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”) wrote the story outline.
“Hardcore is an action/sci fi thriller following a soldier’s journey as he saves the world without getting his hands dirty.”
Wingard is also co-writing the script alongside Will Simmons.
Hardcore will be executive produced by Adam Wingard.
