Feardemic is at it again. The subsidiary of Bloober Team has announced an agreement with Twisted II Studio to publish the latter’s psychological horror title Dark Fracture on all consoles and PC via Steam, including physical editions.
The announcement was made during a Reddit AMA with lead designer Nissai doing the “following your dreams” and quitting their job to start Twisted II Studio in order to create Dark Fracture.
The story for Dark Fracture is as follows: set in the late 90s in a forested area of the Northeastern USA, you are a man named Edward, who currently works at a body farm – a decomposition research facility. Needless to say, Edward has a rather troubling past, and his only solace is in the medicine that helps him to get through the day. Barely able to cope with his issues, they’re exacerbated by the solitude of his workplace. Increasingly, Edward’s problems are bubbling just below the surface, threatening to explode.
The resulting inner conflict manifests itself in visions of a parallel dimension that you’ll explore. Of course, given Edward’s state, you also have to contend with a Sanity Meter, which as you’d expect, witnessing disturbing events causes it to decrease, potentially hindering your progress.
It doesn’t help that many of these events are procedurally generated, adding to the tension. And hey, since Lust From Beyond did it, why not grab inspiration from Zdzisław Beksiński and H.R. Giger in your environment designs?
At the moment, you can play a “prologue” of the game via Steam, as well as a demo. Dark Fracture is scheduled to be released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch in late 2022.
Thanks to RelyOnHorror for the heads up.
