There are thus far two seasons of the South Korean zombie series “Kingdom” streaming on Netflix, but before a third season we’re getting a spinoff episode this summer.
Described as a “special episode,” it’s titled “Kingdom: Ashin of the North,” and it tells the story of “Ashin,” the heiress to a northern Jurchen town who briefly appeared in the show’s season two finale. Jun Ji-Hyun and Park Byung-eun will star in this spinoff tale.
“Tragedy, betrayal and a mysterious discovery fuel a woman’s vengeance for the loss of her tribe and family.”
“Ashin of the North” will be taking a bite out of Netflix on July 23.
