Marvel’s “What If…?” Toy Line Reveals Spider-Man to be a Zombie Hunter! [Images]

Marvel’s animated “What If…?” series is heading to Disney+ on August 11 and one episode, in particular, should pique the interest of horror fans.

While we likely won’t be covering the series much here on Bloody Disgusting, one notable tidbit about the series is that the concept is opening the door for the arrival of the Marvel Zombies.

Again teased in the most recent trailer, the animated series will feature Zombie Captain America and Zombie Iron Man!

With the series less than a month away, Hasbro Pulse has revealed their action figure line, which not only includes “Zombie Captain America”, but also, get this, “Zombie Hunter Spidey”, the latter of which rocks a cool Van Helsing-esque cape!

Peter Van Helsing. I like the ring of that!

Here’s hoping we’ll be getting an undead Iron Man in the future, too.

Under the “What If…?” umbrella, Marvel is able to get a little crazy with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, exploring strange scenarios we’d normally only see in the comic books.

“What If… ?” features fan-favorite characters, including Peggy Carter, T’Challa, Doctor Strange, Killmonger, Thor and more. The new series, directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as head writer, features signature MCU action with a curious twist.

There is indeed a “Marvel Zombies” universe in the world of comics, and it should be fun to see some of that horror-heavy storytelling play out on screen in Disney+’s “What If…?”
