New Mod Brings Leon Into ‘Resident Evil Village’

With Capcom finally resolving the performance issues with the PC version of Resident Evil Village, fans can now expect to enjoy a more optimized version of the game. That, of course, means it’s mod time.

Over at the Resident Evil Modding Board, modder JTeghius Kittius has begun bringing Leon Kennedy into Village in the most efficient way possible: by snagging the Dead by Daylight model, and Frankensteining Leon’s head from the Resident Evil 2 remake onto the body. “I’m surprised that with the game being out for 2,5 months [sic] no-one has made a Leon mod yet, especially with how everyone said this game was very RE4 inspired,” says JTeghius in his forum post.

In all honesty, it looks much better than it sounds. The mod is using one of the 3rd-person camera mods to accomplish this, so expect the same issues as with the previous attempts at implementing a 3rd-person camera.

To get this mod going, you’ll need FluffyQuack’s fluffymanager. And, if you do watch the video below, JTeghius does warn people that he’s playing in Mercenaries Mode, so expect some spoilers if you haven’t had the chance to complete the game.

Resident Evil Village is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Google Stadia. Thanks to SiliconEra for spotting this one.
