“Chapelwaite”: Horrifying Exclusive Clip Gives Birth to a Sneak Peek from This Week’s Episode

EPIX‘s new series “Chapelwaite” adapts Stephen King‘s prequel story “Jerusalem’s Lot,” published in 1978 and featuring the fictional town King introduced a few years prior in the novel Salem’s Lot. The series premiered last week, with a new episode this Sunday.

Titled “Memento Mori,” the second episode of “Chapelwaite” premieres on EPIX Sunday, August 29, and the exclusive clip you’ll find below takes you bedside for a horrifying birth.

In “Memento Mori,” a child in town dies of a mystery illness and on her deathbed, credits Stephen Boone. Hysterical townsfolk demand that Charles dig up his cousin’s grave. Charles refuses but in private opens the grave and is shocked by what he finds.

Meagan wrote in her review for BD, “Chapelwaite doesn’t forge any new ground, but its faithful brand of Gothic horror and vicious vampires should appease Constant Readers.”

Oscar-winner Adrien Brody stars in the EPIX series as Captain Charles Boone, alongside Emily Hampshire (“Schitt’s Creek”), who will be playing new character Rebecca Morgan.

Here’s the full plot synopsis for the series…

“The series is set in the 1850s. It follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.”

“Hampshire will play Rebecca Morgan, an ambitious young woman who left Preacher’s Corners to attend Mount Holyoke College, and has returned home with an advance to write a story for the new and prestigious Atlantic Magazine. Her writer’s block lifts when Boone arrives in town with his children, and despite her mother’s protests, Rebecca applies to be governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor and the Boone family in order to write about them. In doing so, Rebecca will not only craft the next great gothic novel, she’ll unravel a mystery that has plagued her own family for years.”

Peter Filardi and Jason Filardi are scripting, exec producing and serving as show-runners.

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
