HBO Max Becomes the Official Home of ‘Evil Dead’ Ahead of ‘Evil Dead Rise’ With Original Trilogy Arriving Next Month

A whole bunch of new horror is coming to HBO Max in September, most notably the brand new original horror movie from James Wan, the Giallo-inspired Malignant.

And Wan isn’t the only horror master taking over HBO Max on the road to Halloween, as we’ve learned that Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy is also headed to the service.

New movie Evil Dead Rise, filming now, is expected to be an HBO Max Exclusive. In other words, HBO Max is about to become the official streaming home for The Evil Dead!

Here’s all the new horror headed to HBO Max in September 2021.

September 1st

  • Army of Darkness
  • The Cell 2
  • Cloverfield
  • Event Horizon
  • The Evil Dead
  • Evil Dead 2
  • The Gallows
  • Lady in the Water

  • Promising Young Woman

As for the horror films *leaving* HBO Max in September, they include Doctor Sleep (September 20), The Craft (September 30), From Dusk Till Dawn (September 30), House on Haunted Hill (1999 – September 30), Jason Goes to Hell (September 30), Jason X (September 30), Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (September 30), My Bloody Valentine 3D (September 30), Scream 1-3 (September 30), Snakes on a Plane (September 30), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (September 30), Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (September 30), and Willard (1971 – September 30).
