Keeping in mind that live viewership is hardly the be-all, end-all determination of how well a TV series is doing these days, as many people now choose to stream episodes of their favorite shows at their leisure rather than watching them live, it’s still always interesting to keep track of live viewership numbers for new horror shows, “Chucky” being one I’ve got my eye on.
“Chucky” actually airs every Tuesday night on both SYFY and USA, so we’ve got two different sets of numbers on the ratings charts every week. And those numbers continue to look strong on the road to this Tuesday night’s Season 1 Finale, with last Tuesday night’s penultimate episode “Twice the Grieving, Double the Loss” again seeing an increase in viewership.
While SYFY viewership for the episode was *slightly* down, the second-to-last episode of the debut season saw a notable uptick in USA viewership, interesting considering the fact that the previous week’s episode similarly saw a significant uptick in SYFY viewership. “Twice the Grieving, Double the Loss” pulled in 0.348 million viewers on USA last week, compared to the 0.278 million viewers who tuned in to watch “Cape Queer” on USA the previous Tuesday night.
As for the SYFY viewership, 0.350 million watched “Twice the Grieving, Double the Loss” last week, compared to the 0.377 million that tuned in to watch “Cape Queer” on SYFY.
