‘Halloween Kills’ Makes Another $8.5 Million During Halloween Weekend for $115 Million Worldwide Total

Now in its third week of theatrical and at-home release (via Peacock), Halloween Kills came it at #2 on the box office charts this Halloween Weekend, of course only behind Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. But how much did Michael Myers scare up at the box office on his favorite day of the year? Halloween Kills made another $2,460,000 domestically on October 31st.

Across the entire 3-day Halloween Weekend, David Gordon Green’s sequel to his Halloween added another $8.5 million to its domestic total, which now stands at $85,633,610.

Worldwide, the new movie has made $115,112,610 to date.

Back in 2018, Halloween ended its worldwide theatrical run with $255 million, $159 million of which was made here in the United States. Of course, the release of that film was an entirely different situation that’s essentially beyond compare, as the 2018 franchise relaunch was not released during a pandemic and also was not released at home on the same day as theaters.

What we do know about the at-home release of Halloween Kills, on that note, is that the film was the number one non-live event premiere in Peacock’s history, with over one million households watching in its first weekend of release. It’s safe to assume that many more people watched at home during Halloween Weekend, making it a big time success for Peacock.

Theatrically, Halloween Kills is likely to remain under $150 million at the worldwide box office, which would bring its total to about $100 million less than the previous movie’s.

No matter, Halloween Ends is *definitely* happening, with filming set to begin early next year. At this time, Halloween Ends is set to arrive in theaters on October 14, 2022.

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
